Gambell School  Wins at the State Science Fair and the Clean Energy Olympics 2023

Gambell Qughsatkut students competed in two different science competitions recently, the State Science Fair and the Clean Energy Olympics. 

The middle school team, coached by Gladys Borillo, placed 1st in the Clean Energy Olympics with their turbine made of baleen that was able to
produce enough electricity to power a lightbulb. Mya, Ty, Wylder, and Eddie earned a spot at Nationals with this project! 

The high school Clean Energy Olympics Team placed 3rd and they too earned a spot at Nationals with their project. Kiera and Katie will be
representing the high school with that project. 

Also, our high school team, coached by Luzviminda Dinglasan, racked up quite the assortment of awards at the State Science Fair! They earned 
Most Outstanding High School, and Luzviminda earned Most Outstanding Teacher

They also won several different awards including the Stockholm Award which gave them a chance to earn even another spot at Nationals. 
Katie and Kera are waiting to see if they will qualify or not. Kiera and Jariah also competed in the State Science Fair and earned awards for their projects!
